Faiz Imam has acquired his higher education from excellent universities of India like Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He had developed his interest and irresistible inclination towards philosophy in general, philosophy of law and constitutional laws since his university days. He has been writing over philosophy of law, principles of law and constitutional issues.
He has great interest in Constitutional principles, Constitutional laws, Constitutional interpretation, Constitutional discussion and Constitutional remedies. He has his intellectual base in philosophy of law. He reads and understands system of governance, organs of State and Judiciary in particular comparatively. He is staunch torchbearer of civil liberties, freedoms, equality, rights and social and economic Justice. He tries to minimise contradictions between State and Civil Liberties, class interest and social and economic Justice, Justice and maintenance of law & order, peace, safety, security, protection of people, between administration of Justice and enforcement of law. He has propounded many principles of Law and Justice, Rule of Law, Philosophy, Justice, Democracy, Civil Liberties, Equality and social and economic Justice. He has very balanced as well as controlled opinion of Justice, Rule of Law and maintenance of Law & Order.
During his stay and acquiring education at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, he decided to enter into Vakalat profession which he earlier abandoned and aspired to be a philosopher getting educated in philosophy from excellent universities of world. Indeed his intellectual temptation took him to Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi for further higher education in philosophy (political studies) even after acquiring his degree in BA-LL.B and LL.M from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Even being intellectual and having academic aspirations, he never thought to be a judge, though his family was stubborn for him to be a judge.
Though he is very traditional by temperaments, nature and taste, but he has deep respect for creative thinking, ideas and principles for Humanity, Human Rights, Democracy, the cause of Justice, administration of Justice, enforcement of law and maintenance of order, Good Governance and social and economic Justice.
He has deep understanding of development of constitutional laws, principles and remedies. He has peculiar way of understanding, in particular, The Constitution of India from constitutional history of India, law-making history of India, history of governance of India, history of policy-making & planning of India and history of case-laws created laws of Indian Judiciary.
He has been utilising and translating his academic excellence, philosophical base and intellectual clarity, maturity, pragmatism, realism, vision and insight actually into actual world, in actual human affairs, human transactions, human conduct and human issues by propounding various principles of Law and Justice, Freedom and Governance and class interest and social and economic Justice even while handling Court cases also.
His closest friends at University level have been serving Indian Judiciary by becoming a judge of subordinate judiciary of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, but some close one are law officers and lecturers in law as well at different places.
He has been writing extensively even now in so busy schedule of his career and profession sparing some time, if not for his loving friends seating and enjoying persian tea at Temptation Cafe, Shaheen Bagh, South-East Delhi. He has great intellectual circle and surroundings of Delhi Okhla area, Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Milia Islamia University and Jamia Hamdard University.
He has good media circle as well, his well acquainted media people and personalities have been doing very well in media fraternity and of course for strengthening the forth pillar of Democracy and for being the voice for voiceless people.
He has also political circle of sincere and sophisticated politicians and law and policy makers of Delhi and other places of India. He has consistent contact with social workers and NGO’s of Delhi and other places of India and has been very active in participating NGO’s activities and in raising social issues.
He has greatly been impressed by the works of philosophers like Jeremy Bentham, John Stuart Mill, Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche, Michel Foucault, John Rawls and Amartya Sen, etc.
He has his residence at Malviya Nagar, South Delhi living with cherished and celebrated beauties, memories and histories of South Delhi. In his professional life of Vakalat at Delhi High Court, New Delhi and Supreme Court of India, he has been taking forward his simple principle of “Merit with Integrity” which he believes devotionally and which he lives with assertions as well.
